Prem Dahal Khatri

As a self-employed trekking guide with years of experience, the mountains of Nepal are like a second home to Prem. He is fluent in both German and English and wants to show solo travelers and trekking groups the beauty of his country. In addition to leading trekking trips on-site, he takes care of all necessary travel preparations and organizes permits, accommodations, transportation options, and much more for his participants. He plans each trip individually and adapts it to the wishes and ideas of his customers.

Goal

We were commissioned with the branding, design, and development of Prem's website. We also produced an image video for the website.

Implementation

For the branding, we combined the modern with the traditional, ensuring that professionalism as well as down-to-earthness, joie de vivre, and likability are conveyed. To achieve this, we combined playful headings with an elegant serif font. Hand-drawn illustrations amidst modern vector graphics give the site an individual character. The colorful design is adorned with many photos and reflects the rich culture of Nepal.

The website is multilingual and aims to reach both German-speaking and English-speaking travel enthusiasts. We placed a special focus on the inviting and diverse photo galleries, enabling high-resolution photos of past tours to be well-showcased. The integration of Directus CMS allows for easy management of tour descriptions, which are to be continuously expanded and serve as inspiration for his website visitors.

The image video serves to get to know Prem better and was produced in German and English. We conducted an interview with him in both languages and edited together existing video material from past trips to Nepal that Christian Netzberger has made with Prem to create an inviting image video.
